The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert on Wednesday for the northern and southern parts of West Bengal. The alert was issued due to the anticipated continuous rainfall in the state from June 28 to July 2.
The press note released by the IMD stated, “Enhanced rainfall and thunderstorms with lightning activity will prevail over districts of North and South Bengal until July 2, 2023.”
