Siliguri, 26th December: The traders expressed outrage over the illegal parking of city autos in various parts of the city. Illegal parking is observed on various important roads of the city, resulting in traffic congestion. The traders are also facing extreme difficulties.
One such incident took place in Sevoke Road today, sparking a scuffle between some traders and city auto drivers.
The traders expressed outrage over the incident and said that they will keep their shops closed in such a situation and the administration must solve the problem soon.
City auto drivers, on the other hand, said that due to illegal parking of e-rickshaws (toto), they are facing extreme losses. Hence, they halt their vehicles at every place to board passengers.
However, the traffic police officials are likely to hold a meeting today based on the complaints of the traders. Several decisions will be taken keeping in mind the views of both the traders and the auto drivers.
