Siliguri, 03rd December: Amid the ongoing four-lane road construction work in Siliguri, incidents of illegal loading and unloading of goods from outstation buses on the Champasari adjoining service road have been on the rise. Taking strict action against this practice, the Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard conducted a special drive on Wednesday.
During the drive, traffic personnel seized goods being illegally loaded and unloaded from buses parked on the service road. Challans were also issued against the offending buses.
Police officials stated that such activities on the service road pose a serious threat to both road safety and traffic management. The Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard has made it clear that strict action will be taken against buses found loading or unloading goods while parked along the service road.
The police have also issued a warning to bus operators and instructed them to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations.
