Siliguri, 10th February: Police arrested one person along with a large quantity of illicit liquor during a raid conducted in the Simulguri area on the outskirts of Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Prem Lal Roy.
According to sources, the operation was carried out by Bhakti Nagar police station under the Siliguri Metropolitan Police following specific inputs received from confidential sources. The accused was caught red-handed during the raid.
Police said Prem Lal Roy had been illegally selling liquor from his residence for a long time. A large quantity of both country-made and foreign liquor was found stocked inside the house.
The seized liquor was taken into police custody. The arrested accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Tuesday.
