Siliguri, 27th January: A youth was caught running an illegal liquor business by stocking large quantities of both domestic and foreign liquor at his residence. The arrested individual has been identified as Pintu Mandal, a resident of the Shravan Nagar area of Ward 18.
Acting on a tip-off, the Siliguri Police Anti-Crime Wing conducted a raid and arrested the individual. On Sunday night, police raided the house of Pintu Mandal. During the raid, a significant quantity of domestic and foreign liquor was seized. Mandal was arrested on charges of illegally stocking and selling alcohol.
Police sources revealed that the estimated market value of the seized liquor is approximately ₹50,000. The arrested individual was presented before the Siliguri court on Monday, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
