ICAI Siliguri conducts two blood donation camps, collects 111 units amid local shortage

Siliguri, 13th December 2025: In response to a severe blood shortage in Siliguri, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Siliguri Branch, along with its Students’ Wing, the Eastern India Chapter of ICAI Students Association (EICASA), organised two blood donation camps on Saturday.

The camps were held at Siddhi Vinayak Banquet on S.F. Road and Planet Mall on Sevoke Road, successfully collecting 111 units of blood with support from Terai Blood Centre and Maharaja Agrasen Lions Magnum Blood Centre.

The blood shortage, exacerbated by seasonal demand and low hospital stocks, has put significant strain on local healthcare facilities. Over 100 participants, including CA members, students, and members of the public, attended the camps, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and commitment. First-time donors shared inspiring stories, while families participated together, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.

CA Aadarsh Chandak, ICAI Siliguri Branch Chairman, said, “This initiative reflects our commitment beyond balance sheets, to saving lives. The overwhelming participation shows the CA spirit in action during tough times.”

The camps aim to address the ongoing blood shortage in the region while fostering community involvement and awareness about the importance of regular blood donation.
