Rajganj, 28th December: In a heart-wrenching incident, the lifeless bodies of a married couple were found hanging from the noose in the Seltarbari under the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block. The deceased husband has been identified as Ramesh Mahato (25) and his wife, Kakali Biswas (22). The incident has led to widespread mourning in the entire area.
According to family sources, Ramesh and Kakali were involved in a romantic relationship and eventually got engaged in holy matrimony one and a half years ago. Professionally, Ramesh ran a clothing store located in the Bhuktihaat market. Reportedly, on Wednesday evening, the couple was getting ready to attend a wedding in the neighborhood when husband Ramesh went to the adjacent market to purchase a gift for the event.
Upon returning home, he discovered that the house’s door had been locked from the inside. Following several trials, Ramesh and his oldest brother broke down the door and found his wife, Kakali, hanging from the noose. Kakali was immediately rushed to the hospital where the medical professionals declared her dead.
Meanwhile, Ramesh was engulfed in a state of shock following the tragic loss of his wife. Subsequently, his deceased body was found hanging in the tea garden near the house by the family members. Both the family members of the deceased couple are baffled as to why the incident occurred.
On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, the police of Ambari outpost arrived at the spot, recovered the body, and transported it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. The police have initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
