Madarihat, 21st May: A house in the Khayerbari Gram Panchayat Chekamari area under Madarihat Block was severely damaged after a herd of wild elephants went on a rampage, on Wednesday late night.
According to sources, around 30 wild elephants entered the said area, destroying a portion of Madan Roy’s residence. The animals also destroyed the jute fields and 40 betel nut trees.
