Siliguri, 25th February: Panic ensued in Siliguri’s Ward no. 32 after a horrific fire gutted an entire house in Ashok Nagar. Reportedly, a fire broke out in the residence of Biplab Das on Saturday morning. Food was being cooked on a wood stove in the house from where the fire started. In no time, the fire spread its flames and engulfed other houses as well.
Acting promptly, the locals informed the fire department in hurry. Shortly after receiving the news of the incident, two fire engines reached the spot and the fire was brought under control within an hour.
Meanwhile, Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Shikha Chatterjee, Ward No. 32 councillor Tapas Chatterjee, and Borough Chairman Jayant Saha visited the area. Later, Mayor Goutam Deb met the fire affected families.
