Darjeeling, 21st April: Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah announced that the central government was seriously considering the inclusion of 11 Gorkha sub-tribes in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list. The announcement was made through an audio call at the public meeting in Darjeeling.
According to reports, Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to address a public gathering at the Gorkha Ground in the Lebong area of Darjeeling on Sunday. Several individuals had gathered to witness the Home Minister’s public meeting. However, the minister could not be present at the gathering due to the inclement weather.
Despite weather conditions preventing his physical presence at the public meeting, Shah addressed the gathering through an audio call to BJP candidate Raju Bista, affirming the BJP’s support for the community’s aspirations and pledge to ensure justice through constitutional means.
What can we do, not wanting to vote bjp this yr. But just to clutch on to hopes that this party which looking certain to rule centre will enact favourably to Gorkha demands of political n financial when others have not included any commitment to this area and support for opposition is not a calculable plus, decisions are made by those at centre.
Very good announcement of the honourable home minister for 11 Gorkha tribes to include in s T list but that must be passed in parliament.Honourable minister is quite aware.of the fact that there is no govt. Jobs
