Darjeeling: President of CPRM R. B. Rai recently made a statement condemning the seizure of Rs 21 crore cash from the house of Arpita Mukherjee who is a close aide to Partha Chatterjee, Trinamool Congress leader and former education minister.
Talking to the reporters, at the CPRM centre office Rai stated that ED should also investigate the illegal appointments of teachers in GTA and the hills as well. He further added that Minister Partha Chatterjee should be immediately removed from office and the Chief Minister of the state Mamata Banerjee should have resigned as soon as she heard about the seizure of such a large amount of rupees. This incident has also raised questions about her integrity and work responsibility as a CM of the state, the CPRM President charged.
R. B. Rai also strongly condemned the scam that happened right under the nose of the state. He added that the state and the center should immediately remove the accused minister from his post and office as it is highly disgraceful for the state to let him hold the post even after being involved in such a big scam. He also demanded proper investigation in the hills like in the state.
