Siliguri, 21st February: A higher secondary student in the Shishabari Bazaar area under Matigara Police Station was allegedly verbally abused and physically harassed on Friday night, causing a stir in the locality.

According to sources, the student had stepped out from her home to visit a shop when a woman of the neighbourhood allegedly stopped her and made objectionable remarks about her mobile phone, claiming it was bought with government funds, which insulted the student.
