Help reaches the needy Banjara families in Fulbari after Siliguri Times’ news coverage

Rajganj, 27th June: After Siliguri Times published a news of the Banjara families living in a severe crisis in Fulbari a few days back, a businessman extended his hand to help the said families.


Around 25 Banjara families live in tents in the Amaidighi area of Fulbari in Rajganj. After the state government imposed a partial lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19, the said families are struggling to make ends meet and are being forced to spend the days on empty stomach. Last Thursday, a piece of news on them was issued by Siliguri Times.

Following this, Harekrishna Nandi of Kendra Bari in Rajganj came forward to help these families. Today, he handed over various food items including rice, pulses, potatoes, soybeans to 25 families. The Red Volunteers of Rajganj also helped in delivering aid to the families.
