Rajganj, 14th May: Heavy rain and strong storm winds rocked through parts of Rajganj, last night, causing widespread damage in Belakoba and its surrounding areas. Multiple electric poles fell and many trees were uprooted. Several houses in the said area have been damaged due to the storm.
Chiranjit Pathak, a resident of the Station Colony area, stated that many pakur trees were uprooted around 9 pm last night, due to which the road was blocked. Numerous electric poles fell, due to which the power supply was also affected in the area.
The locals complained that although the Belakoba station is located nearby, no railway officials or employees were sighted until Thursday noon.
