Nagrakata, 20th July: After heavy downpour lashed the districts of North Bengal since last night, a flood-like situation was witnessed in different parts of the region.
Likewise, a similar scenario was observed in Nagrakata block. Luksan Basty, Railway Colony, and many other surrounding areas have been waterlogged. Several people are left stranded and helpless as the rain entered residential areas too.
Meanwhile, locals complained that this is not a new thing. Every year, they are compelled to deal with water-logging with the advent of monsoon. They further alleged that the problem concerning rainwater accumulation persists due to the poor drainage system in the area. Despite reporting the issue to the local panchayat administration several times, no solution has been provided, they further alleged.
