Jalpaiguri, 05th June: A health worker, who is a resident of Ward No. 10 under Jalpaiguri Municipality has been infected with the novel coronavirus. Following this, the Jalpaiguri Municipality and the district administrative officials held an emergency meeting.
The meeting was attended by SDO Ranjan Kumar Das, SJDA Chairman Vijay Chandra Barman, Municipality Administrator Papia Pal, Administrative Board member Sandeep Mahato, and Saikat Chatterjee.
In this context, Papia Pal stated that the Ward No. 10 area has been sanitized and barricades will be put up around the locality.
Meanwhile, SDO Ranjan Kumar Das stated that the health worker was employed at the Siliguri COVID Hospital. It is has been learned that the patient even traveled to different places. Therefore, the area has been declared as a containment zone.
