Siliguri, 06th June: Several doctors and lab technicians of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital and COVID Hospital in Matigara tested positive for the virus. To maintain normalcy in medical service, the Health Department has decided to appoint new doctors via advertisements.
Dr. Pralay Acharya, Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) stated that at present, 8 doctors will be appointed at the NBMCH and COVID hospital, for which, advertisements have already been issued. In addition to this, doctors and 15-16 lab technologists will also be brought from various health centers. Also, special training will be given to the medical workers to protect themselves from contracting the virus while treating the patients.
As per the information, the medical workers, who incurred the virus while attending the infected, are currently undergoing treatment and will be sent to 14-day home quarantine after being discharged from the hospital. Such a measure is being taken to prevent any hinder in the medical service.
