Siliguri, 06th December: To promote coexistence and awareness between elephants and humans, as well as to increase public interest in the work of the forest department, the Hathi Bandhu Mela will be held at the Bagdogra Range Office on December 13.
The three-day event will feature multiple programs, including awareness activities about elephants and measures to prevent elephant-human conflicts, which will be showcased at various stalls. The fair will also organize competitive programs for the entertainment and recreation of children. Additionally, farmers will have the opportunity to sell paddy at the government purchase rate.
DFO of Kurseong Forest Division, Debesh Pandey, stated on Friday that the initiative aims to foster good relations between the forest department and the general public. He also emphasized the importance of afforestation.
