Siliguri, 02nd March: Gulal (colored powders), of various colors, are being prepared in Siliguri’s Gulal factories as the festival of Holi knocks on the door. Gulal preparations, in full swing, was witnessed at a Gulal factory in Jyotinagar, Siliguri, today.
A total of 15 workers have been engaged in the production of the Gulal in the factory for the past 3 months. More than 50 kgs of Gulal, of various colors, are being prepared in the factory, every day. Sabita Sutra Dhar, an employee of the factory, stated that Gulal is being prepared by mixing organic powder, water, and various colors.
It takes 2 hours to prepare 50 kgs of Gulal. The Gulal is then, kept in the sunlight, for a period of two days, before it is fully prepared. The Gulal is then packed and sold in the market.
