Kurseong, 04th August: A review meeting on the measures taken regarding the prevention of COVID-19 under in Kurseong subdivision of GTA region was held today at Kurseong town hall.
The meeting was chiefly attended by GTA Chairman Anit Thapa, GTA Principal Secretary Surendra Gupta, Darjeeling District Magistrate S. Ponnambalam, SP Darjeeling Amarnath K, Health Department officials as well as Kurseong SDO, CMA, Chairman of Kurseong Municipality and others
Numerous vital issues were discussed in the meeting, including:
- Emphasis on Public Awareness Programmes on COVID-19
- Impact of lockdown on COVID-19 transmission in the area
- To make the Surveillance Committee more active
- The importance of setting up a Monitoring Room in every hospital
- An ambulance should be available in every hospital at all time
- Keeping the residential and public premises clean
- People who work in close contact with the public like shopkeepers, bank employees, postal staff need to be extra vigilant as the novel coronavirus threat persists
- Infected person will first be sent to home isolation
- Will stress on improving ‘behavioural change’
- The need to open a SARI center at Kurseong Hospital
