Darjeeling, 22nd August: Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Chief Executive, Anit Thapa, vehemently denounced the heinous killing of a minor student enrolled at Nepali Higher Secondary School in Siliguri. In response to this distressing incident, he personally addressed a letter to the Police Commissioner of Siliguri Police Commissionerate. Additionally, he released an official statement, firmly urging for a thorough investigation into the matter and advocating for justice to be delivered to the bereaved family.
In his official statement, Thapa expressed his profound shock at the distressing news of the brutal murder of a young Nepali student from Nepali Higher Secondary School in Siliguri. While acknowledging the prompt arrest of the perpetrator, Mohammad Abbas, by the police, he commended their swift action. However, he strongly condemned the horrifying nature of the incident occurring in broad daylight and expressed deep empathy for the excruciating pain the victim’s family must be enduring.
Thapa further revealed that he had corresponded with the Siliguri Police Commissioner, urging for a thorough and diligent investigation into the case, while underscoring the critical importance of ensuring justice for the grieving family.
