‘Ground Zero’ Governor CV Ananda Bose assures the end to violence in Bengal

Siliguri, 29th June: Governor CV Ananda Bose, during his ongoing visit to the Darjeeling district, emphasized his role as the ‘governor of ground zero’, expressing his commitment to carefully monitor every situation in West Bengal. Currently, Governor Bose is touring various districts affected by recent violence to assess the situation.


In a meeting held this morning, nine party leaders, led by MP Raju Bista and MLA Neeraj Zimba, met with the Governor. During the meeting, MP Raju Bista presented a letter to the Governor, outlining several demands, including the maintenance of peace and order in the region during the upcoming Panchayat elections, and ensuring the security of candidates.

Addressing the media, the Governor mentioned that since the announcement of the Panchayat elections, he has been actively monitoring different locations to ensure peace and security in the state. He emphasized his responsibility to conduct the Panchayat elections in accordance with the instructions of the High Court and to safeguard the well-being of the public and the state. The Governor urged the public to vote with confidence, assuring them of his dedication to their safety and the state’s welfare.
