Siliguri, 28th December: A grand procession was held in Siliguri as part of the World Vaishnava Conference, organized by Gaudiya Mission and all Gaudiya Math and Ashrams of North Bengal. Saints, ascetics, and locals participated in the procession.
The event commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, the founder of the Gaudiya Math. The two-day event commenced earlier on Saturday. The procession started from Kanchenjunga Stadium and passed through several streets of the city before culminating at Tarai Tarapada Adarsha Vidyalaya in Siliguri.
Speaking at the event, Saint Bhaktivedanta Sajjana Maharaj of the Keshav Goswami Gaudiya Math in Siliguri stated that the World Vaishnava Conference is being organized across India to honor the 150th birth anniversary of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati. He also strongly condemned the attacks on Hindus and the destruction of Hindu temples in Bangladesh, calling for an end to such atrocities.
