Siliguri, 27th August: On Sunday, Governor CV Ananda Bose landed at the Bagdogra Airport and arrived at the residence of the minor girl who was brutally murdered in Siliguri and offered his sincere condolences to the grieving family.
According to reports, the Governor was present at the residence for about an hour before he departed for the Siliguri State Guest House where he chaired a press conference. During this, the Governor expressed how a precious life was lost and stated that the purpose of an important scheme such as Kanyashree would not be fulfilled if a daughter’s life is lost.
The Governor further expressed that the incident should not be politicized. He added that the Chief Minister would take necessary steps in efforts to protect the women and children of the state.
