Siliguri, 06th November: Allegations have surfaced against the authorities of the Dabgram No. 02 G.S.F.P. School in Siliguri’s Ward No. 05 for selling government-provided textbooks and notebooks. The incident has sparked anger among the local residents of the Natunpara area.
According to the locals, books and notebooks supplied by the government were allegedly sold by the school teachers. In addition, residents have raised concerns about irregularities in the school’s operation, stating that regular classes are not conducted and teachers often do not arrive on time. This affected the regular attendance of the students.
In response, Asst. teacher Babita Pal denied the allegations. She explained that some old notebooks were sold, but insisted that there was no wrongdoing. She also countered with allegations of anti-social activities, including drug use around the school grounds. According to Pal, vehicles are frequently parked in the school field. Despite multiple complaints to the Khalpara police and other authorities, the situation has not improved.
