Naxalbari, 10th February: Tensions rose in Naxalbari after allegations surfaced that a government road was occupied to construct a boundary wall.
Locals reported that a person built the wall on the road leading to the Nehal Jote Anganwadi centre under Maniram Gram Panchayat. Concerned residents lodged a complaint with the Gram Panchayat.
Gram Panchayat Pradhan Gautam Ghosh reached the site following the complaint. He reportedly got into an argument with the accused, Chitra Kami, which escalated tensions at the location.
Naxalbari police arrived soon after and brought the situation under control. Chitra Kami claimed that the wall was built on her own land.
Gautam Ghosh stated that the matter would be formally reported to both the police and block authorities for further action.
