Rajganj, 20th March: The State Tourism Minister, Goutam Deb, held a meeting along with the administrative officials of the Rajganj Block Development Office at the BDO office on Friday.
Addressing the media, Goutam Deb stated that a scheme has been launched for the elderly people belonging to the Topsili tribe. Under this scheme, people above 60 years who do not receive any pension will be given a thousand rupees as a monthly allowance. The allowance will be provided to around 26 thousand people. Besides, the tribe certificates will be provided to them soon.
The meeting was attended by the Jalpaiguri Additional District Magistrate Moloy Haldar, District-in-council President Uttara Barman, Assistant President Dulal Debnath, Rajganj MLA Khageshwar Roy, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti President Purnima Roy, Rajganj BDO NC Sherpa and many other dignitaries.
