Siliguri, 26th November: NJP GRP has arrested Dhubri-based gold trader Surendra Saha in connection with a robbery targeting a Siliguri doctor on a train. The victim was reportedly drugged during the incident.
Earlier, on 14th November, the mastermind of the crime, Mofizuddin, was arrested. During questioning, police discovered that some of the stolen items from the doctor were sold to Surendra Saha. Acting on Mofizuddin’s statement, the GRP arrested the gold trader.
Recovered items include four gold rings, a gold chain, and from Mofizuddin’s house, two mobile phones and a wristwatch. Surendra Saha has been presented in Jalpaiguri court for buying stolen goods. The NJP GRP continues to investigate the case.
