Siliguri, 02nd October: In a significant breakthrough, police recovered a gold chain looted from a police officer’s wife within 24 hours of the incident. Following this, a miscreant was arrested by the police.
As per reports, on October 1, the spouse of a policeman, who works under the Siliguri Metropolitan Police, went for a morning walk near Hindi High School. During this, a miscreant snatched the gold chain from her neck from behind and fled from the scene. Following this, a formal complaint was lodged at the Siliguri police station.
Based on the complaint, on Sunday night, the undercover cops of the crime wing team of the Siliguri police station initiated an investigation and arrested the robber from PNT Street. Additionally, the stolen gold chain was also recovered. On Monday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
