Siliguri, 28th June: Governor CV Ananda Bose, on Wednesday, held a meeting with Vice-Chancellors of various universities at North Bengal University (NBU) in Siliguri. However, before the meeting, slogans were raised by Trinamool Chhatra Parishad members against the visit and the meeting.
According to reports, the protestors raised slogans of “go back”, upon the arrival of the Governor and Vice-Chancellors at the University. In this regard, the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad alleged the appointment of the Vice-Chancellors of various Universities and the subsequent meeting at the NBU, to be illegitimate, for which they had resorted to agitations.
It is to be noted that on June 26 the West Bengal Governor was shown black flags and slogans raised by members of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad accusing him of impeding the educational environment in the state.
