Siliguri, 03rd November: Binay Tamang and Anit Thapa faction Gorkha Janmukti Morcha held a grand rally in Darjeeling on Tuesday against Bimal Gurung. Meanwhile, GJM president Binay Tamang and General Secretary and GTA Chairman Anit Thapa are in for Kolkata to attend a meeting convened by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna today.
After Bimal Gurung’s sudden public appearance before Durga Puja, multiple rallies are being held against him in the hills. While addressing the media before leaving for Kolkata on Monday, Binay Tamang stated that Gurung is not a threat to him but instead, the matter is just the other way round. He said that Gurung’s return into the Darjeeling Hills will not affect his political career.
Meanwhile, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar is in Darjeeling. He is likely to conduct multiple talks and discussions till December 01. However, no representatives of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha have been called to attend the meetings.
