Siliguri, 17th December: Today, under the aegis of the Darjeeling District BJP Mahila Morcha, a protest was held in front of the Pradhan Nagar police station, demanding the earliest arrest of the accused who had abducted and killed a 12-year-old 6th-grade student in Dakshin Palash area under the Pradhan Nagar police station.
Along with this, a memorandum was also handed over to the OC of the police station. On this occasion, BJP Mahila Morcha president Shikha Moitra said that a 12-year-old schoolgirl was abducted in Siliguri on December 5 and later her body was recovered from the Sukna tea garden eight days after the abduction. 15 days have passed since the incident, but the accused is still at large.
Shikha Moitra further alleged police of not arresting the accused Manoj Roy because of the accused’s father-in-law association with TMC. Citing this, she asked everyone to come forward to bring justice for the dead minor.
