Siliguri, 03rd February: In recent developments, the police have arrested the fifth accused in connection to the gang rape case of a girl in Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Manav Roy (22).
It has to be noted that, on the night of the 20th and 21st of the previous month, five friends allegedly gang-raped a girl who was alone at her home. Significantly, on the 21st, three accused were apprehended by the locals and handed over to the cops of Ashighar Outpost. Subsequently, the police produced the arrested accused Sanjay Roy, Gopal Roy, and Durlabh Roy in the court and took them on remand.
During the interrogation, the fourth accused Abhijit Roy was arrested six days after the incident. Meanwhile, on Friday night, the police of Ashighar Outpost succeeded in arresting the fifth accused Manav Roy. On Saturday, the police produced the accused before the Jalpaiguri court for further course of action.
