Malda, 09th February: A youth has been accused of assaulting a student with a blade after she protested against eve-teasing. The incident surfaced from the Taratala area of the Chanchal Police Station.
According to the girl, on Sunday morning, when she was on the way to her tuition, a young man named Mamun Ali started troubling her. It is alleged that when the girl opposed, Mamun attacked her with a blade, due to which she was seriously injured.
The girl was immediately admitted to the Chanchal Super Specialty Hospital in a critical condition. The family of the victim student has filed a written complaint in this regard at the Chanchal Police Station. The accused, Mamun Ali, is reportedly absconding since the incident. Police are investigating the incident.
