Giant python rescued from Siliguri’s Rajendra Nagar area

Siliguri, 08th January: Panic spread in the Rajendra Nagar area under Ward No. 01 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation after a giant python was found inside a water pipeline beneath the Railway Mahananda Bridge on Thursday morning.


According to local sources, residents first noticed the large reptile inside the pipeline and alerted others, leading to chaos in the area. The forest department was immediately informed about the situation.

A team from the forest department rushed to the spot and, with the assistance of local youths, safely rescued the python, measuring approximately seven to eight feet in length. Officials confirmed that the reptile was unharmed during the rescue operation.


After being secured, the python was later released safely into a nearby forest area. Forest department officials appealed to the public not to panic in such situations and to promptly inform the concerned authorities to ensure safe rescue operations.
