Siliguri, 24th March: Siliguri Mayor and Trinamool Congress candidate Gautam Deb visited the family of a minor girl who died under suspicious circumstances in the city, extending support and assuring them of all possible assistance.
He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Ward No. 01 Councillor Sanjay Pathak, Borough Chairperson Gargi Chatterjee and other officials. The mayor spoke with the family members for a considerable time and assured them that the administration stands by them during this difficult period.
Gautam Deb urged everyone not to politicise the incident and instead come forward to support the bereaved family. He also demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and called for strict punishment in the case.
