Siliguri, 26th March: During election campaigning in Siliguri, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Raju Bista described Trinamool Congress candidate and Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb as a “good person.” He clarified that he would not make any personal comments about Deb but added that Deb would be held accountable for his party’s actions.
The remark has sparked discussion in Siliguri’s political circles, as Bista had targeted Gautam Deb personally just a few days ago.
Responding to Bista’s comments, Gautam Deb said he had heard that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty would participate in BJP’s campaign in Siliguri. He welcomed all and said he would not comment on Bista. Deb added that the decisive moments would be on 23rd April and on the day of the election results.
