Siliguri, 12th October: With the Kali Puja ahead preparations in the city have begun in full swing in various clubs of Siliguri. In regard to the upcoming Kali Puja, the Gate Bazaar Youth Club started its preparations through Khuti puja.
The club’s theme for this year’s Kali puja is “Prayer”. Due to the past two years of the pandemic, the Gate Bazaar Club organized the puja in a simple manner. This year as the club is celebrating its 50th year of anniversary and are all set to organize puja along the lines of its theme.
Today the club has started the work of constructing the pavilion along with the Khuti Puja. The Puja Committee Secretary Subrata Sen said that people were in their homes for about two years during the COVID spread. At that time people were praying and wishing to God for freedom from the spread of the virus. He said that keeping this in mind, the club this time will celebrate through the Puja pandal.
