Fulbari Mahananda Barrage swells due to incessant rain; lock gates opened

Fulbari, 27th September: The Mahananda Barrage in Fulbari has swelled significantly due to incessant rain, prompting the opening of several lock gates. Water is now flowing at a fast pace.

Reports indicate that continuous rainfall in both the hills and plains has led to a substantial rise in the water level of the Mahananda River.

Consequently, multiple lock gates at the Fulbari Mahananda Barrage, located near Siliguri, have been opened. The weather forecast suggests that heavy to very heavy rain is expected in the coming days.
