Fulbari, 02nd August: The Fulbari Highway Traffic Police have initiated a campaign against unregistered e-rickshaws (totos). The operation was conducted on Friday at Uttar Kanya More and Fulbari Battala More along the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway (NH) adjacent to Siliguri.
During the campaign, e-rickshaws without number plates were turned away when they entered the NH. Additionally, the documents of registered totos were scrutinized to ensure compliance.
It is to be noted that, the initiative is part of a broader effort by the Municipal Corporation and Siliguri Metropolitan Police to reduce traffic congestion in Siliguri city by banning the operation of numberless totos. According to police sources, the campaign against unregistered totos will continue indefinitely.
