Siliguri, 11th November: After speculations regarding various friendship clubs being run across the city surfaced, the Pradhan Nagar Police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at a residence in Gurung Basty and detained two youths, on Wednesday. Several documents comprising of names and phone numbers of youths from other states were recovered from the spot.
The police primarily assumed that the club members used to communicate through these phone numbers and earn money through deceitful ways. The detained youths have already been taken to the police station and will be interrogated soon.
It is to be noted that the Telangana police launched operations in different parts of Siliguri and arrested three men. They were then taken in transit remand. Since then, the Siliguri Police Commissionerate has been carrying out operations against illegal call centers in different parts of the city.
