Siliguri, 07th April: In the last few days, miscreants have been caught with weapons at several places near the Siliguri Eastern Bypass area. Two fresh bombs were also recovered from a residence in Panchanan Road on Monday night. Following this, political turmoil has started surrounding these incidents.
BJP state general secretary Sayantan Basu, on Wednesday, slammed the Trinamool Congress while campaigning on behalf of the BJP candidate. He alleged that if the houses of the TMC leaders are searched, EVM machines will be found.
On the other hand, Darjeeling district Trinamool spokesperson Bedabrata Dutta opposed his remarks and said that Sayantan Basu talks insanely. He further stated that firearms and EVM machines will be recovered from the houses and vehicles of BJP leaders.
It is to be noted that the Bhaktinagar and Ashighar outpost Police recovered three pistols on Saturday night, one pistol on Sunday night, and two pistols on Monday night.
