Naxalbari, 19th January: A free eye check-up camp was organized under the aegis of Naxalbari Lions Club along with the help of Naxalbari Police Station. The said camp was organized at Naxalbari Police Station premises today where 91 people were examined of which 21 were referred for surgery. The said 21 will be sent to Siliguri Lions Eye Centre for operation. Along with this, sanitary napkins for women were distributed in the camp.
During this, Lions Club members Narendra Prasad, Debprasad Bhowmik, Anil Saha, Prahlad Biswas, and Shyamal Jwardar were present. At the same time, medicines were also provided to the patients. The secretary of the Lions Club said that the said camp is organized once every month. Several people from all strata of society from common people to police personnel also got their eyes checked. Another Eye check-up camp will be organized again on February 23 at Naxalbari police station.
