Siliguri, 21st November: A youth was arrested in Siliguri on charges related to the tablet scam, which has been under investigation for financial mismanagement. The arrest took place in the Devidanga area under the jurisdiction of the Pradhan Nagar Police Station. The arrested individual, identified as Ravindra Prasad Singh, is a resident of Kishanganj district in Bihar.
According to reports, the accused was allegedly involved in the misappropriation of funds linked to the scam. The arrest was carried out by the Burdwan Cyber Crime Police. The accused was running a customer service center in Chopra, where he was reportedly involved in transferring scam money to various accounts. As a result, he received a significant amount as payment.
The police launched an investigation after a complaint was filed in Burdwan regarding the missing funds from the tab scam. Following the investigation, Ravindra Prasad Singh was arrested from the Devidanga area late Wednesday night. On Thursday, he was produced before the Siliguri court and was granted a transit remand to be taken to Burdwan for further questioning.
This arrest was made after the Siliguri Police’s Lalbazar Detective Division apprehended three other individuals involved. They were apprehended on Sevoke Road, with one suspect from Chopra and the other two from Pabitra Nagar and Samar Nagar.
