Siliguri, 30th January: A four-year-old girl was burnt to death in the Thakurnagar area under Dabgram-II. The deceased has been identified as Banya Sarkar.
The grandmother of the deceased informed that Banya went to worship Goddess Saraswati during Saraswati Puja, on Wednesday afternoon. During the celebration, a candle fell on her saree.
She was immediately brought to the Siliguri District Hospital. She was, later, referred to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
