Siliguri, 18th January: The prompt action of OC Partha Sarathi Das of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station saved the life of a youth injured in a collision between a four-wheeler and a scooty. At present, the youth is undergoing medical treatment at the Siliguri District Hospital and is currently in stable condition as per the medical professionals.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 12 o’clock on Wednesday night in Ward no. 33 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) where a four-wheeler accidentally rammed into the a scooty. As a result, the two individuals on the scooty were knocked down and the scooty driver sustained critical injuries. Additionally, the two-wheeler was severely damaged due to the occurrence.
Meanwhile, OC Partha Sarathi Das was returning home from duty through the said area. Upon receiving the information, he immediately arrived at the spot, rescued the injured, and rushed to the Siliguri District Hospital in his car. Furthermore, the officer promptly called for a police van at the location. The injured youth is said to be a resident of the Michael area and is currently in an improved condition. On the other hand, the family members of the injured expressed their gratification to the officer for his vigilant action.
