Rajganj, 04th January: Four members of a family had a narrow escape following a wild elephant attack. The incident resulted in an atmosphere of panic in Gokulbhita village of Ambari under Rajganj block.
According to reports, Nitalu Roy and family were sleeping in two separate rooms, during which, they heard a loud sound. In no time, a wild tusker broke into the house. Panicked, they somehow managed to flee from the house and save their lives, however, the elephant razed the house, including beds and wardrobes.
Later, the elephant approached towards the Baikunthapur forest. The incident left the family distraught. After the incident, the Forest Department officials arrived at the spot, initiated an investigation, and assured the family of help.
Meanwhile, Bablu Roy, the husband of the panchayat member of the area stated that he was also alerted about the presence of a wild elephant over the night. He added that, in the morning he spotted Nitalu Roy’s house damaged. Furthermore, he stated that any aid from the forest department would assist the family.
