Itahar, 25th May: Four people lost their lives after being hit by a lorry truck near the NH-34 Bekidanga area under North Dinajpur district on Sunday evening. The deceased have been identified as Gorachand Barman, Pintu Barman, Lakshmi Barman, and Potol Barman, residents of the Itahar Paharajpur area.
As per the information, the four individuals were seated in the middle of a divider near the said area and were conversing among themselves, during which a lorry truck lost control and rammed into the divider, killing all four of them on the spot. The truck has been detained in the incident, however, the driver managed to escape the scene.
The bodies have been sent to the Raiganj Government Medical College-Hospital for an autopsy. The police are investigating the matter.
