Siliguri, 25th September: In a recent development, Matigara police successfully foiled a robbery attempt, leading to the arrest of four individuals. The suspects have been identified as Vishal Das, Jeevan Roy, Ratan Mahant, and Harihar Barman.
According to reports, on Tuesday night, police received information about a group of 10 to 12 armed individuals who had gathered under the railway underpass adjacent to Phansidewa More with the intent to commit robbery.
Acting swiftly, the police conducted an operation, resulting in the arrest of four suspects, while the others managed to escape. Authorities recovered several weapons intended for the robbery from the arrested individuals.
On Wednesday, the suspects were presented in the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court, and the police are currently engaged in further investigation.
