Siliguri, 29th August: Four people have been arrested for preventing the police from doing their work and also for getting into a conflict with SI Debashish Das of Pradhannagar Police Station and other police officials. The SI was injured in the incident. He is currently admitted to Siliguri District Hospital.
It has been learned that SI Debashish Das and other policemen reached the Devidanga area in search of a miscreant. At that time, a scuffle broke out between the locals and SI as the former stopped the police from doing their work. Das was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, a large police force rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control. Police arrested four people in the incident.
The arrested accused have been identified as Kush Kumar Gupta, Vishnu Mahato, Rakesh Jaiswal, and Sandeep Gupta.
The four accused were produced at the Siliguri court today. The court ordered 14 days of police custody.
